When to order
Six to eight weeks before Diwali is the sweet spot. Prices are at their lowest, stock is complete, and transport is available. In the final fortnight all three move against you — manufacturers release later batches at higher rates and licensed transport is fully booked.
How much to budget
As a rough guide for a family celebration:
- ₹1,500 - ₹3,000 — a modest evening: sparklers, chakkars, flower pots, a few novelties for children.
- ₹3,000 - ₹7,000 — a full evening with aerial items and a proper finish.
- ₹7,000+ — extended families, joint celebrations, or apartment blocks pooling an order.

What to actually buy
For the noise-averse and for young children

- A bucket of water and a bucket of sand within reach.
